CE Accreditation

CIFP Retirement Institute credential holders have an obligation to maintain the highest standards of professional conduct whenever dealing with clients and the public. Inherent in this obligation is a requirement for licensees to maintain and improve their professional skills through continuing education and training so as to keep up-to-date with changes in retirement and estate planning and/or the financial planning process, relevant legislation and related matters.

In keeping with this and in addition to abiding by the RRA/RFRA®/RRC® Codes of Conduct, to remain a licensee in good standing, individuals holding CIFP designations must complete the following amount of qualifying, verifiable continuing education activities approved by the CIFP Retirement Institute on an annual basis:

  • RRA: 8 verifiable credits
  • RFRA: 10 verifiable credits
  • RRC: 10 verifiable credits

The CIFP Retirement Institute is pleased to accept the submission of continuing education activities from education providers for CIFP-approved CE credits. By becoming a provider of CIFP Retirement Institute approved CE activities, your programs can be marketed to the thousands of CIFP designation holders working in all areas of financial services, across Canada.

The CIFP Retirement Institute will review your application to ensure that the submittied CE activity meets the requirements for CE accreditation. The cost to submit a CE activity for approval is $225.00 + GST/HST which includes a $25.00 non-refundable application fee and a $200.00 fee for the CE credits (unlimited credits). CE activity application reviews can take up to 30 business days and approval confirmation and documentation will be sent to the e-mail address included on the application form.
