Registered Retirement Consultant/Conseiller en Retraite and Conseillère en Retraite Program

The CIFP Registered Retirement Consultant®/Conseiller en Retraite® and Conseillère en Retraite® Program was introduced in 2010. It is a unique and specialized educational offering that focuses on the areas of financial planning that will be most in demand as baby boomers transition into the next phase of their lives: retirement planning, estate planning, wealth management and taxation during retirement. Graduates of the Program earn the license to use the prestigious Registered Retirement Consultant (“RRC®”)/Conseiller en Retraite and Conseillère en Retraite (“CR®”) titles.

Successful completion of the CIFP Registered Retirement Consultant/Conseiller en Retraite and Conseillère en Retraite Program will equip you with the comprehensive knowledge you need to discuss retirement concepts and strategies with your clients. This Program of study addresses how clients plan for retirement, how they use their financial assets during retirement and how they make financial decisions related to retirement. It also takes a detailed look at the estate planning process and the many considerations and strategies involved in developing an estate plan.

The Registered Retirement Consultant/Conseiller en Retraite and Conseillère en Retraite designation can be used as a specialty credential that is an end in itself. It can also be used as a stepping stone towards other relevant professional titles such as the Certified Financial Planner® designation.

Financial institutions recognize the quality and value of the CIFP RRC/CR Program. Since its launch, this educational offering has been highly acclaimed and the credential is universally recognized throughout the financial services industry. To date, there are approximately 5,000 RRC/CR holders in Canada with many more, at various stages, currently working through the program.
